 Spleene's Q is a Crossoverkite suitable for beginners and ambitioned pros. The Q is as versatile as you would expect from a modern kite. Excellent hangtime, direct C-kite bar-feeling with short bar travel, fast acceleration, tight turning behavior and perfect flight stability even in gusty conditions were the achieved goals for the development of the Q. Auto-water-relaunchability and easy handling add to the universability of this kite.
The exceptional in-flight stabiliy and fast acceleration of the Q was achieved by combining an almost straight trailing edge with a swept back, arrow-shaped leading edge and a deep c-curve. This concept oringinates in an agile and easy to handle kite. The missing center strut results in a flexible, adaptive profile in the center avoiding frontstall by a moment of force restoring the essential angle of attack.
The Q is produced of first class fabrics from Teijin (Technoforce Ripstop) and Kevlar reinforcements where needed. In order to distribute the occurring forces evenly into the canopy, Double-Ripstop is used in the stressed areas around the trailing edge as well as in the transition zones from dacron to ripstop at the tips and the leading edge. Kevlar is used to reinforce the connections of the struts to the fronttube and the wing tips. To give the kite a strong and rigid frame, the main-sail is reinforced with wide strips of Dacron where it is connected with the struts. Furthermore the leading edge is reinforced by a kevlar belt from the inside. This construction promises a durable but agile kite because every material has been meticulously positioned according to its special and weight-optimized purpose.
